Ira Rosenblatt and co-counsel successfully resolved a highly contested breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and professional negligence lawsuit on behalf of a SRC high-net worth individual against one of the largest professional service providers in the US for a confidential sum in the eight-figure range.

Transactional Team Stays Busy in 2009

March 2009

Ira Rosenblatt, with support from Heidi Feldman and Diane Marioni, representing a court appointed Trustee, successfully put two real estate purchase and sale transactions totaling approximately $58,000,000 in purchase price consideration, under contract and in escrow. SRC represented the Seller. Although deals are relatively scarce in this market, the Transactional practice group managed to stay busy this past quarter successfully forming approximately 10 new entities, and substantially completing multiple corporate clients.

The “Best Places to Work” survey process was sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal and managed by the Best Companies Group, an independent workplace excellence research firm. Both publicly and privately held organizations were eligible. Company surveys by the Best Companies Group accounted for 25% of the firm’s total score, while employee surveys accounted for 75%.

Entertainment, Transactional Teams’ Active Summer

Ira Rosenblatt, Mishawn Nolan, and Heidi Feldman collectively completed dozens of negotiations and transactions including a national distribution agreement for one of SRC’s global manufacturing clients in the cosmetic space; an international sourcing agreement on behalf of a a client that manufactures proprietary digital entertainment equipment; formation of approximately 10-12 start-up companies in various commercial channels; and raising or securing commitments for in excess of $20,000,000 in capital.

SRC Obtains Another Significant Ruling From Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals!

July 2008

In a matter having a significant impact on the nation’s household goods and moving industry, Gregg S. Garfinkel and Brent M. Finch recently prevailed in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in the matter of White v. Mayflower Transit LLC. Specifically, the Court held that the Carmack Amendment to the Interstate Commerce Act (49 U.S.C. 14706) is the exclusive cause of action for contract claims alleging delay, loss, failure to deliver, or damage to property shipped in interstate commerce, including claims for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Stone Enters Daily Wildcat Hall of Fame

Greg Stone was inducted into the University of Arizona’s Daily Wildcat Hall of Fame for his achievements obtained while Manager/Business Editor of the U of A college newspaper.

Nolan, Feldman Aid “Voices of Uganda”

June 2008

Mishawn Nolan and Heidi Feldman handled the legal work for “Voices of Uganda,” a documentary film that illuminates the situation facing teenagers in war-torn northern Uganda. Members of the “Voices” team met with senior Senators on the Appropriations Committee, shared clips from the documentary, and advocated for additional assistance for northern Uganda in the supplemental 2008 budget.
